Living Room for London Creatives.
Hello! My name is Y Chan; you may also know me as Rose or Karbi, and I am the founder of the Early Masterworks Creative Club. I was born in Beijing but grew up in Hong Kong. I was trained as an architect and worked/lived in many interesting places, such as New York City, Tokyo, Shanghai, Brittany in France, and Rovinj in Croatia, before landing in London with my husband and deciding to make it our permanent home about 2 years ago.
Over 9 years ago, I founded my first life drawing club in Hong Kong. Then in October 2024, I launched the EM life drawing club at the Firepit Art Gallery in Greenwich to create a safe place for all creative heroes and heroines to meet and exchange in a relaxed, nonjudgmental, and welcoming environment. Many new friendships and romantic and collaborative relationships have been fostered since then.
EM is new, but we’ve got big plans.
Our current sessions typically hold between 30 and 80 people, but I have extensive experience organising and curating major cultural exhibitions and events, as well as discussion panels for festivals, museums, and heritage sites. Some examples of successful collaborations with major cultural institutions include Open House Festival London, Urbanism/Architecture Bi-City Biennale (UABB), European Biennial of Contemporary Art, and more.
Outside EM you may see me volunteering at The Listening Place, or busy running one of my many small creative ventures.

Hosted within the inspiring settings of museums, galleries and London’s unique interiors, our weekly events create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for creative people of all backgrounds and skill levels to celebrate life together.

Early Masterworks is proud to step into this legendary hub of musical talents to host unique live music + life drawing mini concert nights where creatives of different backgrounds can explore the flow together under one magnificent arch.
City of Westminster (Central London)
We are honoured to have been commissioned to host life drawing programs at the National Gallery’s Friday Lates.
The National Gallery is one of the most prestigious art museums in the world and one of London’s most popular tourist destinations, housing a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the 13th to the 20th centuries. Founded in 1824, the gallery houses notable works by legendary artists including Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, J.M.W. Turner and many more.

Many of our events also serve to raise awareness and funds for various London-based charities.
In 2025, we hosted events to raise funds for The Listening Place, The Pink Ribbon Foundation, and Fertility Network UK.
